Mahindra University Ecole Centrale School of Engineering (MEC) has announced the launch of its Ph.D. Program in Applied Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Engineering from the 2020 academic session.
Speaking about the focus of the new PhD programme, Dr. Yajulu Medury, Director, Mahindra Ecole Centrale says, “One of the founding principles of MEC has been a strong focus on quality research in inter-disciplinary fields. We have worked ceaselessly towards bringing together a faculty pool, several of who have a unique blend of academic-industry experience and are widely recognised as experts in their fields.”
Ph.D. programmes will be offered in Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering disciplines and Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Chemistry in the Applied Sciences area. MEC has emphasised that those willing to pursue liberal arts at Ph.D can go for humanities and social sciences programmes which is backed by high-quality media and design thinking laboratories.
A full-time PhD scholar will get an assistantship of Rs. 25,000 per month plus free boarding and lodging. The last date to apply for this programme is 27th June, 2020. The candidates will also have to provide teaching assistantship of 8 hours a week. When it comes to research infrastructure and modern laboratories, MEC is well-equipped. The institution has been involved in over 100 papers which were published in last four years in peer reviewed international journals. Over 20 research teams are working actively on Indian and Global research projects which showcase institute’s commitment towards quality research.
The various research areas at MEC include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Optics & Optoelectronics, Materials, Applied Mathematics & Statistics, Digital Media & Technology, Earth & Environmental Sciences etc.
