GATE 2020 will be conducted by IIT this year to fill more than 2,500 seats in IITs across the country.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 will began from February 1. This year, more than 8.60 lakh candidates have appeared for recruitment cum M.Tech entrance exam across the country. GATE 2020 will be conducted by IIT this year on February 1, 2, 8, and 9. The two sessions for the exam will be 9.30 am to 12.30 pm in the morning and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm in the afternoon.
The admit cards for the renowned entrance exam is already out. A paper-wise schedule for GATE 2020 has been released by IIT-Delhi. The institute intends to fill more than 2,500 seats across IITs through this exam. Over 15-20 seats go vacant each year due to lack of synchronization between IITs and PSUs. In 2017, seven old IITs alone had 280 vacant seats.

Least number of applications filled in Ecology and Evolution – 1750
A total of 25 papers will be included in the GATE 2020. The pattern of exam remains the same this year too with a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks. The results will be declared on March 16 which will be valid for three years.
