The registration for CLAT 2020 commenced from January 1 and will continue till March 31.
The application process for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020 has been started by Consortium of National Law University. The registration for it commenced from January 1 and will continue till March 31. Candidates interested in applying for various law universities can register at the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. CLAT exam will be held on May 10.
Students who clear the entrance exam are eligible to apply in the postgraduate and undergraduate courses in law schools including NLUs. The aspirant can fill his/her preference for all 18 NLUs while filling the online application. The preferences for the institutes cannot be changed once the form is submitted by the candidate.
To register, the candidate should click go to the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Thereafter, he or she should click on ‘click here’ tab on the homepage. ‘Register’ button at the bottom of log-in window should be clicked after that. Fill the form using details then and submit the form.
Both UG and PG programme do not have upper limit. A UG aspirant should have cleared class 12th with at least 45 per cent marks (40 per cent for reserved category) and those applying for PG admissions should possess an undergraduate degree in law.
CLAT application fee for general category is Rs 4000 and while for those belonging to BPL, SC, and ST category is Rs.3500. The cost of previous year question paper is Rs 500. The exam will consist of 150 objective-type questions which will encompass areas of quantitative techniques, current affairs, and English.
The exam will have 150 objective-type questions in the areas of English, current affairs, legal reasoning, quantitative techniques and logical reasoning. A negative marking of 0.25 percent for each wrong answer is applicable for both UG and PG programme.
