The Delhi High Court has asked University Grants Commission(UGC) and TERI School of Advanced Studies to address the query of a student who was denied the Master’s degree. Justice C. Hari Shankar, scheduled the matter for July 24.
Justice Shankar was hearing a plea filed by Momisha that challenged the incorrect mark-sheet issued by the university on July 28, 2018. It was issued by TERI School of Advanced Studies in Vasant Kunj in South Delhi. The student has alleged that the reason behind denial of her degree was arbitrary and she didn’t get what she deserved despite her earnest efforts.
Earlier, advocates Nishant Kumar Srivastava and Rajnish Kumar Jha had filed a plea for Momisha stating that TERI School of Advanced Studies had not allowed her to reappear in any her papers or to get her major project re-evaluated.
The advocates also told that university refused to explain the basis of poor grading for the student’s major project as she had received a very positive feedback at the time of presentation and viva voce. The plea read, “The arbitrary and prejudicial conduct of the deemed university and its agents have jeopardised the career of the petitioner (Momisha) and wasted much of the petitioner’s precious time.”
