Three students have taken their lives in last 24 hours, increasing the toll to 19 in Telangana within one week.
An intermediate student from Bommalaramaram, Maithili dreamed of a brilliant career in medicine, but ended up suiciding at her residence on early Wednesday. The candidate has done extremely well in her first year exams but failed to even pass in Physics and Zoology according to the results published by Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (BOIE) on 18 April. He parents have blamed the board and had said that their daughter was competent to get a decent score in medical stream.
Three students have taken their lives in last 24 hours, increasing the toll to 19 in Telangana within one week. The parents have also blamed software solutions firm, Globarena Technologies Private Limited for this tragedy. This software was introduced by the intermediate board in September 2017 for processing admissions, post-examination results, and OMR (optical mark recognition) scanning.
The firm is allegedly responsible for the blunders that found their way into tabulation and preparation of mark sheets. The Telangana government have formed a three-member expert committee to probe the accusation of goof-ups in results. Students, youth, right wing activists are protesting outside chief-minister’s residence demanding immediate action against culprits responsible for the goof-up in results.
