Srushti Jayant Deshmukh emerged as a topper from all the appearing women candidates UPSC examination 2018. Results for these exams were declared on Friday evening. She ranks fifth in overall rankings for civil service examinations conducted by UPSC in June last year.
Kanishak Kataria has topped the exam with rank 1 followed by Akshat Jain with rank 2. The third rank was secured by Junaid Ahmed. A total of 759 aspirants (577 men and 182 women) have been recommended for various positions. “This was my childhood dream,” came a statement from her after results for country’s most elite exams were declared.
“I had decided that my first attempt is my last attempt. UPSC exam is a long journey where you are committed for 1-1.5 years. My parents, family, friends and teachers supported me, so the credit goes to them” told Srushti, to the news agency ANI. She had graduated with B.E (Chemical Engineering) from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, a press release from the UPSC read.
