Bihar intermediate exam results were declared on Saturday. Girls this year have topped both science and arts stream in class 12th. The pass percentage has increased significantly this year from 52.71 per cent to 79.76 per cent.
The official statement for Bihar State Education Board(BSEB) said that Rohini Rani topped the arts stream with 463 marks, while Rohini Prakash topped the science stream with 473 marks. Satyam Kumar was declared the topper of commerce stream with 472 marks.
R K Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary of Education declared the results for all three streams in the presence of BSEB chairman Anand Kishore. Addressing media Kishore said, “”A total of 79.76 per cent candidates, who appeared in all the three streams of arts, science and commerce, have passed the examination this year. The pass percentage previous year was 52.71 per cent.”
The intermediate exam of the board was conducted from February 6 to February 16, 2019 during which a total of 12,78,655 students had appeared in examination in all the three streams. Out of these, only 10,19,855 had passed the exam. Toppers in each stream will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh each, while those securing second and third position will be given Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively along with a Kindle E-reader and a laptop, told the BSEB statement.
