The admission committee of the university also decided to reduce the deduction marks obtained from changing the stream from five percent to two percent. Currently, the penalty marks for changing the stream is five percent.
Head of the admission committee and Dean of Students’ Welfare Rajeev Gupta said, “As per the tentative schedule for admission for 2019-2020, registration for all undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil and PhD courses will begin on April 15 and end on May 7. The portal will reopen on May 20 for two weeks for updating marks and courses. Extracurricular activity and sports trials will start from May 20.”
“We felt we should complete our admission process before the new semester starts; that’s why the decision was taken to start early,” he told a leading newspaper. He further added that the schedule provides 10-15 days’ time in order to conduct election proceedings and admission process simultaneously.
