When I was posted to Pune, a brisk young mechanical transport officer welcomed me on the first day.  I reached in the evening at the station and heard the briefing of the mechanical transport officer to the mechanical transport NCO.   

He was bellowing to his junior, “Aaj ek saab aa raha hai, woh apne aap ko pandit bolega magar unko izzat say le anna.”  

That sahab happened to me and my name was Colonel Pandit.
