The exam is conducted to select officers for administrative positions as IAS, IPS, IRS, and IRTS. To appear in this exam, the candidate must be of 21 years and should not be of 32 years till August 1, 2019. This means that they should not be born earlier than August 2, 1986 and not after August 1, 1997. There is an age relaxation for the reserved category.
Exam Pattern
The preliminary papers consist of paper-1 and paper-II. Paper-I is multiple-choice questions type paper that carries a total of 400 marks. This paper contains questions from disciplines such as Geography; History and Culture; Indian economy; current events of national and international importance; Indian polity; and Science and Technology. A candidate has to qualify with a minimum of 33 per cent marks in paper II which is of General Studies.
How to Apply
The registration for the civil services prelims is divided into two parts- part I and part II. Forms for registration can be submitted by March 6, 6 pm. After reading the instructions, a candidate has to press ‘I Agree’ button and a registration number will be generated for the application.
The applicant then has to upload the scanned photograph and signature along with paying the fees. An auto-generated email will be then sent on the email-ID of the applicant.
