My Treasures

My Treasures

I know nothing in the world that has as much power as a word. Sometimes I write one, and I look at it until it begins to shine – Emily Dickinson

Together I pick a handful,

Of these little treasures everyday.

Not all women yearn for it.

But I have amassed it for you.

Would you prefer a persuasive phrase!

Or a love-drenched composition,

Blush of dawn’s rays on the sky of morn,

And the sighing of leaves in my verses,

Over my physical form.

Also few handmade gifts along with,

Changed lives of those I wrote about.

Will you also find my bunch of silences,

Few academic papers or fervent op-eds,

And pieces that I broke into captivating!

As I am a landscape,

That transformed into a woman.

Lastly would you treasure too,

My courage and a pile of hardbacks,

My cottage in a hill’s wilderness,

And wildflowers surrounding it.

All this could be your treasure too,

As all this belongs only to those,

Who plant their feet deep like roots,

Of trees that attain unfathomable heights.
