Winters

Winters

Are the days of winter sunshine just as sad for you, too? When it is misty, in the evenings, and I am out walking by myself – Gustave Flaubert

Coming back from my walk,

At the approaching dusk.

I saw the grey sky today,

Akin to cooled ambers,

How beautiful was the courage,

Of trees standing against spiteful sky.

I sought the refuge of fire,

Thinking about winters that,

We would spend together.

Is the sky grey in your city too?

What could you be thinking?

Are you smiling at my obsession,

With an idea that I read in a book,

Or because your ideals and wisdom,

Resemble that of the outsider protagonist.

The warm balmy sunlight reminds

Me of your smile half-mocking,

And half-reassuring for everyone.

Would you ever flip my books?

Read my uncouth notes and,

Understand my camouflage of grief.

Meanwhile I send you all my,

Silences, allegories, and allusions.

So that you can behold in them in,

Whichever thought you want.
